Paul Alan Swander, 61, of Gainesville, passed away suddenly in Las Vegas, Nevada while working. Mr. Swander was born in Chicago, IL. He was raised in Janesville, WI. Sgt. Swander served his country form 1968-1972 as a flight simulator specialist and was honorably discharged. He moved to Gainesville 24 years ago from Washington State. He was production manager of the Trophy Shop in Gainesville. He was a lifetime member of VFW post 2811. He was an associate member of the Cox-Oceola Oklewaha Band of Yamasee Seminole Tribe, Orange Springs, FL. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, Gainesville.



Paul is survived by his wife and best friend of 52 years, Mary Swander; daughters Dianna Smith of Hawthorne, Melissa Swander of Gainesville, and grandchildren Crissanna, Michael, Shuston, Mary-Sophia, Melaina, Tyler, Jeremy, and Nova; great grandchildren Neveah, Liliana, and Kaitlyn and his four legged wonders Jack and Heidi.



Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Forest Meadows Funeral Home Chapel, 725 NW 23rd Avenue, Gainesville, Fl. Burial will follow at Forest Meadows Memorial Park East, Military Garden of Honor. Visitation will be held on Thursday and Friday evening from 6-8 PM at Forest Meadows Funeral Home.

I wish the family my sympathy. I just learned of Paul's funeral this past week and remember him and his brother Bruce from our uncle Art's house. May God bless his Swedish soul. See you later cousin.
