Ruth Gotay of Gainesville died Monday, July 19th, at Williston Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, after a long illness. She was 69.
She retired from the Department of Transportation and was a wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Raul A. Gotay.
Born in Puerto Rico, she moved to New York and then Gainesville where she raised her family.
Survivors include her son, Kenneth Gotay of Gainesville, her daughter, Linette Gotay of Kernersville, NC, granddaughters, Marie Gotay, Ashley Gotay, and Gabrielle Gotay, and grandsons, Timothy Gotay and Jacob Gotay.
Visitation is from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wed., July 21, 2010, at Forest Meadows Funeral Home, 725 N.W. 23rd Ave. Funeral Services will be held at1:00 p.m., Thurs., July 22nd, 2010. at the First Assembly of God, 2925 N.W. 39th Ave. Burial will follow at Forest Meadows Memorial Park, Central, 4100 N.W. 39th Ave.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested donations be made to the Williston Rehabilitation & Nursing Center or the Hospice of Nature Coast, in Ruth’s memory.
