Wreaths Across America 2018

Wreaths Across America

December 15th, 2018

Ceremony begins at Noon.

The Wreaths Across America was adopted by the American Legion Riders Chapter 16 and spearheaded by Steven “Buckshot” Gabbard in 2010. In that premier year, the Riders along with the steady support of the Forest Meadows family, laid a total of 50 wreaths on the graves of Veterans located at Forest Meadows. Since then, the employees of the Walmart Distribution Center in Alachua have contributed their volunteer hours to the WAA cause and last year over 1200 wreaths were placed on Veterans graves.

In August of 2015, Buckshot received the title for the WAA 53’ trailer donated by Walmart. Walmart provides the truck and driver for it to be displayed at various Veterans events.

Meet at American Legion Post 16 at 9:00 am to ride to Walmart in Alachua

Escort the Wreaths Across America Truck to Forest Meadows East Cemetery, 3700 SE Hawthorne Road.
