Albina “Mary” Christoffersen

Albina “Mary” Christoffersen, 84, of Gainesville, FL passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by her family on June 22, 2022.  Mary was born July 2, 1937 in Austin, MN to Ralph and Albina (Bastyr) Wolf.

In 1958, Mary earned her Nursing Degree from St. Joseph’s Mercy in Mason City, Iowa. She worked as a Staff Nurse at Osage Memorial Hospital (1958-60) before marrying the love of her life, John Philip Christoffersen on June 25, 1960.  Mary was a stay at home Mom until the family moved to Gainesville, Florida in 1970.  As a Registered Nurse, Mary worked at AGH, Dr. Wilkerson’s Office, and UF where the students kept her “young at heart.” Mary had a radiant smile, quick wit with a sense of humor and enjoyed being at home with her family.

Mary is survived by her husband of 62 years, John P. Christoffersen, Gainesville; son, Steven (Karri) Christoffersen, grandson Alex, Gainesville and grandson Philip, Decatur, GA; daughter, Ann Christoffersen, Melrose, FL; siblings, Judy (Keith) Ramker, Leesburg, FL; Richard (Mary) Wolf, Rockford, IL; Joe (Rosie) Wolf, Cedar Rapids, IA; and Ralph (Audrey) Wolf, Jr., Mason City, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers:  John as an infant; Paul (Mary Lou) Wolf; and Tom (Ann) Wolf.

Funeral Service will be celebrated on June 28th at 10:30 am at Forest Meadows Funeral Home; 725 NW 23rd Avenue, Gainesville. The family will receive friends starting at 9:30 am.  Interment will follow at Forest Meadows Cemetery – Central. Memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s memory to Community Hospice & Palliative Care of North Central FL, UF Health Movement Disorders & Neurorestoration, or contributing a live plant for Mary’s Memorial Patio Garden.Arrangements are under the care of Forest Meadows Funeral Home.
