Alavan B. Beasley

Alavan B. Beasley  passed away peacefully Thursday evening, November 27th in Gainesville, FL at the age of 81 at E.T. York Haven Hospice. Alavan Beasley was born in Bell, FL, to John Offie Everett Bass and Julia Bass. She was a beloved sibling to R.B. Bass, L.E. Bass and Lois Hodge (deceased). Surviving sister and brothers, Betty Horne and Dave her husband, Mason Bass and Marilyn his wife, and Lindbergh Bass and Martha his wife.

Alavan “Ann” was Deputy Clerk at the Gilchrist Supervisor of Elections Office for 16 Years.

She was survived by her loving husband Randolph Beasley, and her children James Michael Horne, Polly Horne (deceased), Sherri Monroe, Howard D. Horne, Alicia Beasley, and Chris Kent. She had five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held Tuesday December 2 at Evans- Carter Funeral Home in High Springs 6pm to 8pm. Service will be held Wednesday December 3 at High Springs Church of Christ on 441 at 11am with graveside following at High Springs City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Evans-Carter Funeral Home 220 N Main St, High Springs, FL 32643 (386)454-2444.

    Randy and Alicia,

    My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Alavan was a wonderful caring person that will be missed by all. My fondest memory was when she gave me her recipe for cooking ham and turkey at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
