Albert D. Hinnant

Albert David Hinnant, age 85, a resident of Melrose, FL entered the Gates of Heaven on April 21, 2023. He was born on August 10, 1937 to the late Albert Theodore Hinnant and the late Merle Roberson Hinnant.
He joined the U.S. Navy Reserves in 1955. He also served proudly in his 43 year career with Clay Electric Cooperative. At Clay Electric he started out as a Lineman in Central Construction on June 8, 1955. In 1959 he relocated to Middleburg, FL serving as the Serviceman for the Middleburg / Orange Park area. He remained at the Orange Park office until he retired as the District Line Supervisor on January 4, 1999.
As a Middleburg resident, he was a member of the Masons and an active, faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Middleburg. He served in various roles while a church member to include Sunday School teacher, Royal Ambassador (RA) Leader, Deacon and Chairman of the Building Committee.
After he retired he relocated back to his home town of Melrose, FL. He moved his church membership to Trinity Baptist Church in Keystone Heights, FL.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63.5 years, Brenda Joyce Morris Hinnant; his son, David Andrew (Sonya) Hinnant of Middleburg, FL; his daughter, Martha Joyce (Robbie) Corley of Middleburg, FL; granddaughter Emmalie Joyce Corley; sister Pat (Russell) Doughtery. He is also survived by many special nieces, nephews, cousins, sister in laws and brother in laws.
Through the years David was known by many different names. His family will remember him as Brother, Husband, Daddy, Papa and Uncle David … to others he will always be “Tiny”, “Batman”, Mr. Hinnant, or David … to many just simply “Friend”. All who knew him cherished his friendship, loyalty and enjoyment of life.
David felt that one of his greatest achievements in life was his family. Many family memories were made of traveling to and enjoying trips at the beach, lake and to the mountains. He and Joy enjoyed traveling and visiting Alaska, many states within the USA and to Canada.
