Keaton, Alice E., age 87
Gainesville-Alice E. Keaton 87 of Gainesville, Florida passed away on Friday, November 2, 2018 at E.T. York Haven Hospice House. Alice was born on August 12, 1931 in Portsmouth, Ohio to Lewis and Laura Dyer. Alice E. Keaton was a beautiful and talented seamstress and often made her families clothing. She started a wonderful career in the culinary arts where she met her husband Neil, of 63 years. She was an excellent home maker, mother and friend to all people greeting everyone with a smile. One of her many hobbies were bowling on a league in Fort Lauderdale where she won numerous varieties of awesome team trophies and many 200 game pins, swimming, beach trips and cruise travel. In her spiritual life she enjoyed many ministries including prayer groups, food bank distribution, flying with the church retreats to many places like Brazil and Jamaica to share her faith in Jesus with everyone she met and singing to the children.
Alice was the youngest of 7 children and was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Leroy and Herman (Pete) three sisters, Gladys, Geneva (Genny) and Irene. She is survived by one more sister Ileen, daughter Vickie, son Larry, two grandsons, one granddaughter, great grandchildren and great-great grandchild. Alice was deeply devoted and very sincere to her family, friends and in her faith and will be missed tremendously.
Funeral services for Alice Keaton will be on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 11:00 am in Countryside Baptist Church with interment to follow at Forest Meadows Memorial Park East’s “Military Garden of Honor” by her husband’s side. The family will receive friends back at the church for a luncheon after the interment. All are welcome.

I will miss my sweet neighbor. I always knew she keeping an eye out for me, and I hope she continues to do so up in Heaven. She will be missed greatly. My thoughts and prayers go to Vickie and the rest of the family in this difficult time.
