Andres Rene Borrero Jr. went home to his Lord and Savior August 29th at 11:11pm, surrounded virtually and in person by those who loved him. Rene was born March 1st 1947, in the Panama Canal Zone (Margarita). He was raised his entire life as a Zonian, where he enjoyed the outdoor lifestyle of surfing, fishing, and exploring the untamed jungles of Panama. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1967, serving two tours of duty in Vietnam, with an honorable discharge in 1971. During his time in the Air Force, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Air Force Good Conduct Medal. Following his service to our nation, Rene settled in the U.S. Rene loved two things absolutely, his intimate relationship with Jesus and his family. He is survived by his beloved Janet Shyrigh, children Aaron Borrero, Amber Borrero, Kaleigh Shannon, and Kyra Riley, his brother Nelson Borrero (Zoe), and sister Maribel Borrero Lisk (Mike), nieces and nephews Christopher Lisk (Ariel), Michelle Lisk, Nicholas Borrero, and Kimberly (Borrero) Stewart (Aaron). He was preceded in death by his parents Andres Rene Borrero Sr. and Lilia Lopez Borrero. Rev. Rusty Russell will officiate funeral services to be held at 10:00am on Friday, September 17, 2021 at Forest Meadows Cemetery (East), 3700 S.E. Hawthorne Road, Gainesville, Florida 32641.
