Annie “Ann” L Palmer, 91, of Summerville, SC (formally of Alachua County, FL) the widow of the late Oscar “Honey” Palmer peacefully passed away with her family by her side on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at Life Care of Charleston in North Charleston, SC. She was born on September 11, 1930, at home in the little town of Elza, GA. The town no longer exists but the local Elza Baptist Church is still there.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Forest Meadows Funeral Home, 725 NW 23rd Ave, Gainesville, FL. Graveside services will be at 12:30 pm at Forest Meadows Memorial Park West, 700 NW 143rd St, Newberry, FL.

Her mother and father often said she should have had the middle name of “Go” because she loved to travel. For 23 years she followed Honey wherever the Army sent him, and she was allowed to go.  After the military days she and Honey traveled in their motorhome as much as they could. She managed to see all 50 states, part of Mexico, and every province in Canada. Her travels included most of Europe, much of the Mediterranean, Panama, and Japan. Mrs. Palmer retired from Publix Supermarkets in 1983 where she worked as the head cashier. She was married to the love of her life Oscar “Honey” Palmer, Jr. for more than 49 years. Survivors include: David C. Palmer (Michele) of NC, Raymond “Paul” Palmer (Diana) of SC, 6 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the care givers and staff of Life Care of Charleston. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
