Betty Summerall of Gainesville, FL passed away peacefully at her home June 5, 2014 under the care of Hospice and surrounded by several members of her loving family.
She was born March 18, 1933 in Charleston, WV, the youngest daughter of Hoya and Mabel Vickers.
Betty was preceded in death by her eight siblings and son, Gregory. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jimmie L. Summerall and three beloved children, Roger Dale Pennington (Kimbra), Randy Alan Pennington and Verona P. Chittum (Brian); 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She will be missed by many other family members and friends. One of her greatest joys and accomplishments in life was being a wonderful mother to her children and enjoying her grandchildren.
Visitation will be 2 – 4 PM, Sunday, June 8 at Forest Meadows Funeral Home, 725 NW 23rd Avenue, Gainesville, FL. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 AM, Monday, June 9 at the funeral home with interment to follow at Forest Meadows Memorial Park Central, 4100 NW 39th Avenue, Gainesville.
