Buristine Chapman (Sam) 77, of Alachua, FL passed away on September 18, 2019.
In the city of Gainesville, FL. Buristine was born in Portalles, NM to Ina Mae and Paul Neville on 08/04/1942. Buristine was a devoted mom that was involved in school activities as her daughters grew up. Buristine was blessed to have met and married her love Howard Chapman spending many wonderful years with him traveling, antiquing, and enjoying the little things in life such as having neighbors over. Other hobbies included gardening which allowed her to become a Master Gardener; cooking; baking holiday cookies was a tradition, refinishing antiques, enjoying a good taco with friends, watching sports to share highlights with her daughter Nicol, enjoying nature, hearing stories about her Grandchildren and their lives and politics. In her early years Buristine attended private school, enjoyed being a fashion model (runner up Miss Arizona), attended classes at Arizona State University, worked as a flight attendant for American Airlines, worked as an executive assistant working in various fields (McNeil Hospital, Teachers Union Association, and private business consulting). Buristine also assisted with fundraising campaigns throughout the years. Buristine is survived by two daughters Nicol and Michelle, grandchildren George, Emily, and Olivia. Step sons Doug (Debbi) , Ross, and Paul (Shelly) and many step grandchildren. Dear friends Jackie and Bob, Gerry and Judy, Kathy, and Wade and Mary. Buristine friends became family throughout the years. Services will be held at Forest Meadows Memorial Park- Central on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 9:30 AM in Gainesville, FL, Father Marek Dzien will be officiating. With Love and Prayers

We wish to convey to her family our condolences upon the death of Buristine. While we had never met her, we did converse with Sam several times by phone since 2017 when we purchased her home in Turkey Creek. She was gratuitous, friendly and intelligent. May she rest in peace.
