Carlos Leon Chase, Jr

Carlos Leon Chase, Jr., 78, of Gainesville, went to be with the Lord October 29, 2012 at Shands Hospital.  Carlos was born in Roanoke,Virginia and moved to Gainesville several years ago from Jacksonville.  He graduated from Roanoke College where he played basketball.  Carlos was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church and was an avid Gator sports fan.

He is preceded in death by a daughter Robyn Chase and sister Leone Hopkins.  He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Janet E. Chase, children Kathy Braddock of Wesley Chapel, Buzz Chase, and Michael Chase both of Jacksonville, David Roper of Destin, Michael Roper of Gainesville, and Mark Roper of Niceville, nieces, Linda Cassman and  Sharon Winslow, and 12 grandchildren.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, November 5, 2012 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 10900 SW 24th Ave., Gainesville, FL with Father Kazimierz Ligueza officiating.  A Reception will follow the service and Inurnment will be at Forest Meadows Memorial Park Central.  Arrangements are under the care of Forest Meadows Funeral Home, 352-378-2528.

    Dear Janet
    I am just learning about your husband now in 2020.
    So sorry for your loss . Carlos and I attended the same schools together in Roanoke starting with Our lady of Nazareth and ending at Roanoke college . We grew up together!
