Celia Margaret Perry Jordan, 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 29th at the Roberts Hospice Care Facility, Palatka, Florida. Celia was born on May 14, 1930 in Melrose Florida. GG, as she was known to her family and friends enjoyed going to the Smokey Mountains, camping with family and friends, working in her yard, reading, attending church, but most of all she loved when her family came to visit and spend time on the farm. She briefly worked for Clay Electric Co-Op as a Switchboard Operator, but soon chose to became a housewife and mom.
Celia was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Priest Perry, Sr. and Beulah Roberson Perry, sister Emily Perry Lee, brother Charles Priest Perry, Jr., and her husband of 71 years, Rufus Jordan. She is survived by her two sons, Perry (Donna) Jordan, Danny Ray (Vernie) Jordan, four grandchildren, Donny Ray (Kimberly) Jordan, Donna Kay (Josh) Lynn, Cindy (Justin) Dansby and Jonathan (Jennifer) Jordan and seven great grandchildren, Dylana, Savanna, Brianna, Hunter, Annabelle, Tyson and Luke.
Celia was a member of Eliam Baptist Church in Melrose and loved attending, especially her Sunday School class. She was a faithful servant to our Lord and she made sure her family and friends knew about Jesus, our Savior. There was a sense of calmness and peace that one would feel after spending time with Celia.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Friday, November 4th at Eliam Baptist Church, Melrose. Viewing/visitation will be at 10:00am, services at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Eliam Baptist Church or Roberts Hospice Care Center, 6400 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka, Florida 32177 (please specify for Care Center use).
