Charles (Chuck) Martin Hansen was born in Milwaukee, WI on Nov. 24, 1944.
Chuck was an E-4 in the U.S. Navy from 1962-1966. He then attended Marquette University in 1967. In 1973 moved to South Florida where he was a successful car salesman. After moving to Gainesville, FL he met his wife, Cindy Tapper, in 1994. They married in 1995 and settled in west Palm Beach, FL for seven years. In 2003 he and Cindy moved to Gainesville, FL where he was a successful employee at Polaris of Gainesville for 9 years. Chuck was an avid golfer, loved the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers, loved to travel and enjoyed his card games with friends.
He passed peacefully at 67, after a four month battle with lung cancer in the Palliative Care Unit at Malcom Randall Medical Center in Gainesville, FL on June 1, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Cindy; his daughter, Chrissy Hansen, and sons, Martin Hansen and Charlie DeMarco, all of Colorado.
Chuck will be extremely missed by so many, especially his wife, and friends of many years, Mike Dietrick, Larry Lyons, and Jim Jones.
A memorial gathering of friends and family to celebrate Chuck’s life will be held on Sunday, July 8, at 2:00 PM at the Rail House Grill, 13232 SW SR 45 in Archer, FL.
