Charles H. “Chuck” Miller passed away July 9, 2022, at E.T. York Haven Hospice in Gainesville, FL
Chuck was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1933. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Electrical Engineering and served in Army Aviation for four years and then three years of National Guard in Chicago.
He worked for Zenith Radio and TV as chief engineer of research group that developed Zenith’s color TV tube.
Chuck loved flying, singing, boating and all other water sports, especially scuba diving. He built his 16-foot fiberglass submarine, which he took in lakes and Suwanee Springs.
He is preceded in death by his parents Harry and Gertrude Miller and brother Arthur.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Bertha Miller, his children Brian (Kimberly), Jody (Bob) and Darrin (Chris) and sister Cindy Malacky, six grandchildren, Drew, Caroline, AJ, and Ty Miller and Sarah and Julie Peeling, and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of his life will be held at the Village of Gainesville chapel on Sunday, September 25th at 1:30 pm. In Lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to E.T. York Haven Hospice of Gainesville.
