Charles Thomas Jempson

Charles Thomas “Chuck” Jempson, 69, passed away on April 13, 2012, at his residence in Micanopy. He was born in Buffalo NY, December 17, 1942 to Dennis and Mildred Johnson Jempson.

He served in the US Navy and did three tours of the Antarctica.

He moved to the Gainesville area in 1970 from Buffalo, NY.

He was a police officer for Gainesville Police Department, and enjoyed working in the Narcotics Division and as a Detective for many years, retiring in 1992. He was involved in many organizations over the years

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Richard Jempson.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Karen Roberts Jempson, three sons, Charles R., Dennis and Daryl, twin brother Samuel Jempson, and 9 grandchildren, Ashley, Levi, Tamara, Cody, Zane, Megan, Dale, Taylor, and Sam.

Funeral Services for will be held on Friday April 20, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Meadows Funeral Home Chapel, 725 N.W. 23rd Ave., Gainesville with Father Roland Julien officiating.

Burial with Military honors will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Micanopy Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made to, Fisher House, Wounded Warriors, or Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs, Inc.
