I write this in sad remmberance of Cleather Howard Hathcock Jr, my only uncle. Uncle Clea you were always a constant in my life. I remember talks, walks, games, dinners, trips ,laughs and you always being a positive influence on me . I honor you with the found memories I have of you being an exceptional human being and a wonderful uncle. I know that you struggled towards the end but Uncle Clea now is the time for you to rest.
Love Kevin
To The Hathcock Family and to all that knew and loved Mr. Hathcock so much.
Brother Hathcock and I were life-long friend from elementary school [Alachua County Training School], High School [A. L. Mebane – Class of 1963], and beyond. Clea has always been an inspiration to me, even in as a adult.
As I reflect on our childhood and even as teenager, for a time we were the first boys in Alachua to own motor scooters. As we grew, his parents would allow us to drive their family vehicle on dates [I was licensed being a year older]. We shared a very wonderful friendship together. As adults we share a wondering lasting friendship.
As a pastor and having to minister to many during their Hour of Bereavement, but with the passing of Brother Clea, I really beared the pain…
Rest Brother Hathcock…, in Eternal Peace
