In Loving Memory of

Connie Waldrop

05/01/1933 - 12/20/2014

Constance (Connie) Marion Waldrop, 81, of Gainesville passed away on December 20, 2014 at home, surrounded by her family.  She was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Alvin Marion Holsenback and Elsie Mae Gentry Holsenback.

Connie and Dave married in 1951 just before he entered military service and later moved to Gainesville in 1960.  Connie worked side by side with her beloved husband for 40 years as of the president and co-founder their business in Gainesville.  She was a member of the Methodist faith.  She was a member of the Gainesville Women’s Club and past president of the Gainesville Jaycees Wives Club.  Her passion was her family and her friends will remember her love for the music of John Denver and travels with her husband.  Her favorite colors were orange and blue and, obviously, her favorite season was fall.

She is survived by her husband, Dave Waldrop, and son, Dennis Waldrop (Makiko), brothers Bill Waldrop (June) of Anniston, Alabama, and Daniel Waldrop (Pat) of Jacksonville, sisters Juanita Bryant (Johnny) (Wellington, Alabama) and Judy Mays (Anniston, Alabama), grandsons Harlan James Waldrop and Griffin Arthur Waldrop of Salem, Oregon, and granddaughters Sara Michelle, Julie Alison and Kalley Jean Waldrop.

The family has requested that in lieu flowers, donations may be made to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Blvd, Gainesville, FL 32606 or Mayo Clinic – Alzheimer’s Disease Research, 4500 San Pablo Road, Jacksonville, FL 32224.

Funeral Services for Connie will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the Forest Meadows Funeral Home Chapel with internment to follow at Forest Meadows Memorial Park Central.  The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5:00pm-7:00pm at the Forest Meadows Funeral Home.

    Dave,

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. We have so many fond memories of Connie, especially tailgating before Gator games and at the beach. We pray you’ll find comfort in your memories as well. Connie is now at peace and enjoying Heaven with good friends like my Dad.

    God bless you Dave!
    Love, Debbie Bowman Townsend
