Corine D. Alligood, 84, of Alachua, FL, passed away on June 28, 2015, at her home.
Corine was born in Santa Fe, FL, the youngest daughter of the late Clyde and Eula Avinger. She is survived by her devoted husband of over 60 years, Roy H. Alligood, Sr., her son Roy H. (April) Alligood, Jr., two daughters, Linda Gale Coleman and Valerie (Jeff) Means, all of Alachua, and her brother, Henry Avinger of Santa Fe, FL. In addition Corine is survived by her grandchildren, Corinia Atkins, Patricia Rodriguez, Ray and Joshua Alligood, Dawn Godsmark, Tanya Dampier, and Jared and Zachary Means, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews and other extended family members. Corine was predeceased by her grandson, Robert Barton.
Mrs. Alligood was a long time member of New Oak Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, and sharing her gift of floral arranging with her friends and family, canning, crafting, sewing, and taking care of her family and grandchildren.
A funeral service is planned for Wednesday, July 1st, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at 10:00 a.m., at New Oak Grove Baptist Church, Alachua, FL. Interment will follow immediately at New Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
