David S. Barlowe, 88 of High Springs died Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the Lake City V.A. Medical Center. David was born in Roanoke Rapids, NC on July 27, 1924 to David and Ada Barlowe. Dave grew up in Lima, Ohio and was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving in WWII in the Asiatic Pacific theatre. After his discharge Dave went back to Lima where in 1954 he started the first Television center, becoming the largest RCA and Zenith dealership in Northwest Ohio.
In 1974, Dave and his wife June semi-retired to Boca Raton, FL where he remodeled houses and he worked and volunteered for 30 years at the Boca Raton Community Church. He served on the board of directors of Palm Royal Condominiums for 10 years. Dave was a devoted, honest and generous hardworking family man. He enjoyed gardening, roses, reading, fishing and boating. Dave had a smile that would light up a room. Dave moved to High Springs to live with family after the passing of his beloved wife of 64 years June.
Dave is survived by his three daughters, Dottie, Caren and Carol, grandchildren Kelsey, Josh, Amanda, Phoebe, Jennifer and 39 great grandchildren.
Funeral services for David will be private.
