Doris Ann “Dori” Lower, 66, passed away Monday, October 21, 2019 at Haven Hospice. She was born on December 20, 1952 to Clifford W & Lucille H. Lower. She worked at the U.S. Department of Agriculture for years. She was married to James Taylor Phillips on August 28, 1971 and she was married to her second husband, Jimmy Wayne Watts on April 24, 1985. Dori enjoyed riding her motorcycle, animals, vacationing and being with her family. Dori is preceded in death by her parents Clifford W & Lucille H. Lower, her birth mother, Eleanor Kistler, daughter, Rachel Elizabeth Phillips, her sister, Mary Melkus, and her brother, James Kistler. She is survived by her son, James Clifford Phillips, her grandson/son, Zayne Cameron Lower, her great-granddaugher, Vega. She had several step-children, Amanda Broady of Bend, Oregon and Philip Watts of Alabama. She is also survived by her sister, Anita Kistler Howard of Decatur, Indiana, nieces and nephews, Rose & Matt Boger of Auburn, Indiana, Shawn Lortie of Churubusco, Indiana, and Scott Lortie of Columbia City, Indiana. She had several great-nieces and nephews also. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 12pm, with a visitation starting at 11am, at Forest Meadows Funeral Home Chapel, 725 NW 23 rd Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32609, 352-378-2528. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

I was so sorry to hear of Dori passing away. She was a dear friend and will be missed by many people. My prayers are with her son, James, and her extended family. Let her family know she was dearly loved by her friends.
