Dorothy E. Boltz

05/16/1922 - 12/31/2014

– Dorothy E. Boltz, (92), peacefully passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the Pepper Hill Rehab & Nursing Center in Aiken, SC

Born May 16, 1922 in Lakeland FL, Dorothy was a daughter of the late Hubert G. Sanchez and Lula Gay (Risebrook).  By those who knew and loved her, she’s remembered for her strong sense of family, her tireless willingness to help people, and her love of the Lord as a member at North Central Baptist Church in Gainesville and as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

In later years, after raising her family and pursuing a career, Dorothy returned to Gainesville to be close to her ailing mother. Dorothy enjoyed oil painting, ceramics and sewing, crafting beautiful hand-made gifts with love.  For many years Dorothy was a welcomed presence at Shands, where she donated hand-sewn blankets, floppy hats, and little teddy bears for pediatric cancer patients.

In addition to her parents, Hubert and Lula, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Kenyon Boltz, her daughter Susan Lee Lewis, her brother Hubert (Sandy) Sanchez, her sisters Frances Newsome and Gaynell Baldinelli.

Survivors include her daughter, Carol Leindecker and her grandson, Evan Leindecker of Greenville, SC who was the light of her life.

    Dear Family,
We all long for comfort in the face of death. One sure source of comfort can be found in the Bible. Such comfort as what REVELATION 21:4, brings out; “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be any more the former things have passed away.” How wonderful it is to know that God can and will restore your love one Dorothy, back to life. This is a promise from God and he will carry it out.
    Sincerely Yours, Judy L.
