Infante, Eduardo Nicasio, 90 of Gainesville died Saturday, April 27th, 2013 at home surrounded by his family. Dr. Infante was born in Holguin Cuba on December 14th, 1922 and came to the United States in 1974.
Dr. Infante graduated from the University of Havana in 1953 and trained at the Mazorra Hospital in Havana, Cuba. He practiced psychiatry, Neurology and general medicine while in Cuba. He worked for the State of Florida Prison System at both Union Correctional and Florida State Prison. His favorite pastimes were fishing and photography.
Dr. Infante is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Juana Infante, a son Eduardo Infante (Yolanda) of Alachua, two daughters Olga Infante (David) of Allentown, PA and Cecilia Infante (Norman) of Fort White and four grandchildren, Guillermo Martin, Yasmin Infante, Eduard Infante and Christopher Campbell.
Funeral Services for Dr. Infante will be held on Saturday, May 4th, 2013 at 10:00am at Unity of Gainesville, 8801 NW 39th Ave, Gainesville, FL 32606 with entombment to follow at Forest Meadows Memorial Park Central Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the Forest Meadows Funeral Home on Friday evening from 5:00-7:00pm.
