Edith Dorothy Lauritzen

Edith Dorothy Lauritzen, 95 formerly of Gainesville, died on November 1, 2012 at Gulfside Hospice in Zephyrhills, FL.

 Mrs. Lauritzen was born February 2, 1917 in Manchester, CT., to John and Roesa Leaskacynski Berk, both of whom were born inPoland.

 Edith was a member of the Polish Women’s Society, was a member of St Bridget’s in Manchester, CT;  a member of St. Patrick in Gainesville, and Our Lady of the Rosary in Land O Lakes, FL,  She was a devote Catholic and very proud of her Polish Heritage.

 She was preceded in death by her Beloved Husband, Frederick Emil, in 2002, a daughter Sandra Tarter, and her 3 sisters.

Edith is survived by her 2 daughters Carole Jean Mits, Charlene Rose Chamizo, and her son, Philip Bruce Lauritzen, 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

 Funeral Services and Interment will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel in the Meadows Mausoleum, at Forest Meadows Memorial Park Central, 4100 N.W, 39th Ave.,, with Father Jeff McGowan Officiating.

The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service, at the Mausoleum.
