Edith Margitha Donohue (Kuhn) 95
Devoted Wife and Mother
Edith and her husband Joe were married for 68 years and she had two daughters, Sandra and Christine who were her source of great joy and pride.
Born in Berlin, Germany in 1921, Edith met and married her life-long love, Sgt. Joseph F. Donohue in Munich, Germany at the end of WWII. She came to this country with Joseph in 1948, diligently studied to pass the citizenship test, and learned to speak, read and write English. She was a bright and gifted woman but chose to remain at home and devote her life to taking care of her husband and girls.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph; daughters, Sandra Donohue of Gainesville and Christine Best (Tom) of Alachua; granddaughter, Cassandra Cranmer of Sebastian Inlet, brother, Eberhard Joachim Kuhn of Berlin, Germany; and brother-in-law, John L. Donohue (Regina) of Turnersville, NJ. She is dearly loved and will be greatly missed. She will be Forever in Our Hearts.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Forest Meadows Memorial Park Central, 4100 NW 39th Avenue, Gainesville with visitation one hour prior in the Mausoleum Chapel. Arrangements are in the care of Forest Meadows Funeral Home (352)378-2528
