Edna Sarah Holton, 88, of Alachua, FL died Saturday, August 13, 2016 at her home. She was born in Niles, Ohio April 23, 1928 and lived in Alachua County most of her life.  She was retired from Shands as a nursing assistant.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Thomas Dawkins and Myrtle McQuinney, husband, Herbert Holton, Sr., daughter, Betty Gales, son, James “Jimmy” Holton, grandson, Henry Cox.

 

Edna is survived by three sons, Herbert Holton of Newberry, Daniel Holton of Alachua and David Holton of Micanopy; daughter, Mary Morgan of Newberry; brother, Robert Dawkins, Starke; sisters, Myrtle Palmer, Gainesville, Shirley Binion, Niles, OH and Joyce Crosby, Ocala; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be at 11:00am Friday, August 19, 2016 at The Pentecostals of Gainesville, 8105 NW 23rd Avenue, Gainesville with visitation one hour prior.  Interment will follow the service in Antioch Cemetery, LaCrosse.
