Eleanor Mae Feeley (Quinn), 90, of Gainesville, FL, died peacefully on September 17, 2022, surrounded by the love of her family.
She was born in Arlington, MA, the beloved child of the late James W. and Mae E. Quinn (Manning). Eleanor was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Edward W. “Ned” Feeley, Jr., brothers Thomas M. Quinn and James W. Quinn, Jr., sisters Maureen (Quinn) Gilmartin and Jacqueline (Quinn) Aiken, brothers-in-law Robert (Maureen) Gilmartin, Kevin (Eileen) Feeley, Paul (Moira) Lyons, Edward (Jacqueline) Aiken, Michael (Brenda) Lipizzi, sister-in-law Shelia (Joyce) Feeley, and her nephew Edward W. Aiken.
Eleanor earned a B.A. in nutrition from Simmons College and a M.A.Ed. from Framingham State University. She began her career as a dietician at the VA hospital in the Bronx, New York. She also worked as a successful real estate agent for over 20 years in the Detroit area. Most recently, Eleanor resided in Gainesville, previously residing in Naples, FL and Rochester, MI.
Her most important occupations, however, were wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family dearly and had a sincere interest in daily goings-on with each of her children and grandchildren. Eleanor was a faithful Roman Catholic her whole life. She was fierce, (“A Quinn never gives in!”) intelligent, and kind. In retirement, Eleanor enjoyed painting, and participated with Ned in volunteer activities through their parish in Naples. Her children will remember her love for the beach, particularly Harwich Port, MA, where she spent many happy summer vacations. She loved spending time with extended family and sharing a good joke and a story.
Eleanor is survived by her children, Michael (Natalia) of Palmetto Bay, FL, Brian (Beth) of Rochester, MI, Kathleen (TJ) Feeley Aseltyne of Gainesville, FL, and Matthew (Nancy) of Miami Beach, FL. She is also survived by her sister-in laws Carolyn Quinn of Amherst, NH, Mary Ellen Quinn of Amherst, NH, Moira Lyons of Waltham, MA, Eileen Feeley of Arlington, MA, Joyce Finnerty of South Yarmouth, MA, and Brenda Lipizzi of Falmouth, MA, her grandchildren Katherine, Megan, Caleigh, Samuel and Henry Feeley, and Aerin and Quinn Aseltyne, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
