Ernest Ray Young

Mr. Earnest Ray Young, 71, of Gainesville passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2014 following a brief illness. Mr. Young was born in Gainesville to Ike and Odessa Young, and he will always be remembered as a great mechanic and a man who enjoyed spending time with friends. Mr. Young was preceded in death by his son Norman Young.

Mr. Young is survived by his son Everett Young (Renea) of Gainesville, his mother Odessa Young of Gainesville, his brothers Maxie Young of Gainesville, James Young (Bernice) of Lynchburg, VA, Clarence Young (Deborah) of Laurence Harbor, NJ, and Douglas Young of Lynchburg, VA, his sisters Josphine Young (Roosevelt Benjamin) of New York, NY, and Cora Young-Richardson (Leslie, Jr.) of Alachua, and four grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Young will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the Westside Church of God in Christ (15535 NW 141 St, Alachua) with Elder Leslie Richardson, III officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-4 PM Friday afternoon.
