Evelyn E. Dukes of Newberry, FL entered eternal rest Thursday, March 14, 2013. She was 91 years young.

Mrs. Dukes was born in Georgia and moved to Trenton at an early age. After marrying the love of her life, Carl J. Dukes, they moved to Gainesville to raise their family. She was a charter member of SW United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Carl. Survivors include son, Gary (Akemi); daughters, Margaret (Brian) and Kathy; sisters, Virginia, Katie, Alice and brother, John Weeks; four beloved grandchildren, Hana, Tina (Emelio), Taylor and Ian; and two great-grandchildren, Keiji and Benjiro. Her In-Laws, numerous nieces and nephews and a multitude of cousins.

Friends will be received from 3-5PM Sunday, March 17 at Forest Meadows Funeral Home, 725 NW 23rd Avenue, Gainesville. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 18 at SW United Methodist Church with Reverend Fred Lawrence officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Meadows West. Flowers are welcome or expressions of sympathy may be made to Haven Hospice, 311 NE 9th Street, Chiefland, FL 32626.
