Evelyn Hemp, age….”A lady never tells,” passed away Tuesday, February 8th, 2022.

Evelyn was a proud Docent for the Florida Museum for over 35 years, Engineering Wives Club, University Wives Club and the Rotary Club of Gainesville.   She enjoyed playing the Marimba and Piano, as well as creative arts.  She will be remembered most for her devotion to her family.

She is survived by her daughters Barbara and Suzanne, (John and Walt), her grandchildren Brandi, Dan (Michael,Sarah) and Zachary and by her great-grandchild, Bennett.  She was predeceased by her husband Gene.

A private graveside service will be held for family.

Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

    So very sorry to hear this. Evelyn was a devoted member of the Oak Hammock Chamber players.. Her marimba gave a group a wonderful ensemble sound. iI wish I could see her one more time rolling that big marimba from her apartment to the rehearsal. Rest in peace Evelyn. You are missed by many!!
