Faye Sparkman Tatum Dodson was born on March 25, 1932 in Vanleer, Tennessee and went to be with her Savior on August 26, 2013. “To be absent from the body is to be present with The Lord.” She is survived by her husband (Fred M. Dodson) of almost 67 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Liston and Beulah Tatum; her sisters, Eloise, Juanita, and Mildred; brothers, Bart and Ray. She is survived by one brother Kenneth Tatum of Alexandria, Louisiana.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Roy Dodson (Jeannine) Grand Rapids, Michigan, Daniel Dodson (Cindi) Mobile, Alabama, Jackie Dodson Mitchell (Vernual) Tennessee Ridge, Tennessee, Sue Dodson Richardson (Michael) Athens, Tennessee, and Judy Dodson Oetter (Robert) Gainesville, Florida. Faye had 13 Grand Children and 21 Great Grand Children.
Faye was a loving wife and mother serving The Lord not only as a Sunday school teacher, but in other countless ways. She was a faithful Prayer Warrior, and used her gift of Hospitality in both her home and church.
Faye will be cremated and the family plans to hold a celebration of her life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Haven Hospice in Gainesville, Florida or Countryside Baptist Church also of Gainesville, Florida.
Fred and family, I am really sorry for your loss. I know you will miss her very much.
