Floyd Lee Mc Mann, 74 of Lake City, passed way Wednesday, December 17, 2014 with his family members by his side at the age of 74 after a long battle with cancer. He was born September 2, 1940 in Buffalo Illinois to Angie Ellen McGrew and William Earl Mc Mann. He was preceded in death by his father in 1948 and his mother in 2013. Floyd lived most of his life in Alachua and Lake City Florida.
Floyd is survived in death by his children, Kenneth Mc Mann, Michael & Tammi Mc Mann, Christine & Rance Dortch, his grandchildren, Kasey Smith, Brittani & Brian Mc Mann, Rance & Kelsey Dortch all of Gainesville Florida. Floyd retired from Contract Freighters Inc in 2004. He began working part time at Burkhardt Sales & Service in March of 2005 as a transport driver until his latest battle of cancer which resulted in his resignation. Floyd was one of the strongest, most resilient, candid and genuine man you could have ever met. His strength and determination will be passed through his family and missed by many.
Funeral services for Mr. McMann will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Forest Meadows Memorial Park Centrals “Chapel in the Meadows” 4100 NW 39th Ave. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service starting at 10:00am. Following the service there will be a reception for family and friends at Grace Baptist Church at 7100 NW 39th Ave Gainesville, FL 32606.
