George F. Scheel, Sr., 82, a resident of Fort White, FL since 1991, passed away Friday evening, June 5, at the Lake City Veteran’s Hospital following a long illness. He was a former resident of Sarasota, FL, and served honorably in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Scheel of Fort White, FL, three sons, George F. Scheel, Jr. and David (Linda) Scheel, both of Fort White, and Richard (Darlene) Scheel, Sarasota, FL, three sisters, Joanne Zeuner, Tallahassee, FL, Gail McLaughlin, Venice, FL and Bonnie Scheel, Sarasota, FL, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Visitation and celebration of life services were held 5-6:00 p.m. Monday, June 8th at Evans Carter Funeral Home, High Springs, Florida. (386)454-2444.
Interment with military honors will be held Wednesday June 10th at 2:00 p.m. at the Sarasota National Cemetery.
