Grace Mercadante

Grace Mercadante went home to be with the Lord on December 26, 2013 in Houston, Texas.  She was born in Mount Vernon, New York on October 14, 1924. Grace is preceded in death by her husband, Gerard Mercadante. She moved to Gainesville, Florida with her husband and two children in 1968. Grace was employed as a Drafting Clerk by Bell South in the Engineering Department for 25 years.

 

Grace was an avid bowler and enjoyed travelling with her husband after their retirement. She was a member of Women’s Aglow, the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Golden Gators. She attended Christian Life Fellowship in Newberry.

 

She is survived by her daughter Patricia Duncan and son-in-law, Glenn and her son Stephen Mercadante and daughter-in-law, Lynne and by grandchildren: Elissa Duncan Weixel(Larry), Amanda Duncan, Joseph Mercadante(Katie) and Michael Mercadante(Krissy) and a great grandson Roman Mercadante.

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Mercadante will be held on Saturday, January 4th, 2013 at 10:00am at the Forest Meadows Funeral Home Chapel, 725 NW 23rd Ave, Gainesville. Interment will follow at Forest Meadows Memorial Park West, 700 NW 43rd Street, Newberry, FL.
