Helen M. Varner

Helen Maxine Easterling Varner, age 86, passed away January 3, 2014 in Palm Harbor, Florida. She was born June 24, 1927 in Brewster, Florida. Until 2009 she resided in Gainesville, Florida and was a faithful member of North Central Baptist Church for over 50 years, where she served as church secretary.

 

Helen was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Miles Varner; her parents, sister, and brothers.

 

Helen is survived her son, James M. Varner, Jr., wife Mary Penn, and granddaughters Catherine Jane and Sarah Anne, all of Tampa, Florida; daughter, Susan Varner Bloemendaal of Tampa, grandson Max Daniel Bloemendaal of Wilmington, DE, wife Christina, great-granddaughter Edith; and, Benjamin Miles Bloemendaal, wife Jayne, great-grandson James Daniel and great-granddaughter Hope Susan, of Peachtree City, GA; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will gather at Forest Meadows Memorial Park Centrals Chapel in the Meadows, 4100 NW 39th Ave., Gainesville, FL, Wednesday, January 8th, 2014 for visitation at 1:00pm with funeral services at 2:00pm. Interment will follow at Forest Meadows Memorial Park Central. In lieu of flowers, donations may be to North Central Baptist Church, 8001 N. W. 23rd Avenue, Gainesville, Florida 32606.
