James Lavern DeVries, 88, passed away on June 26, 2012 at E.T. York Hospice Care Center in Gainesville, Florida.
He was born on July 21, 1923 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Lambert and Frances DeVries.
He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps.
He is survived by his wife, Genevra; a son, Jack DeVries; daughters, Amber Hardin and Diane Maloy, grandchildren and numerous other family members.
An inurnment will be held at a later date.
