Moore, James Robert, 87, of Gainesville, peacefully on October 13, 2013, at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville.
Mr. Moore, known as Bob, was born at Kermit, West Virginia, in July 1926, and was raised in neighboring Martin County, Kentucky. After graduating from junior college in 1944, he served in the U.S. Navy, 1944-46, and afterwards attended
the University of Kentucky. His career was in aviation and aerospace engineering, working in Columbus, Ohio, and later in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Bob was a faithful Christian. His hobbies were golf, bowling, and spectator sports.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife of fifty-nine years, Rebecca; his parents, Douglas and Floe Moore, andhis brother, Luther L. Moore. He is survived by his son, Bradley D. Moore (daughter-in law Mary), step-grandchildren Robin Medina and Jeremy C. Medina (Christine); his sister-in-law, Juanita Moore, of Sparr, four nephews, and a stepsister, Ardonis Muncy, of Inez, Kentucky.
Mr. Moore’s funeral service will be Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at 3:00pm at the Forest Meadows Funeral Home Chapel, with a visitation starting one hour before, at 2:00pm. Burial will follow in Forest Meadows Memorial Park Central’s Military Garden of Honor.
