Jo Ann Sheppard

Mrs. Jo Ann Sheppard of Old Town, FL was welcomed into Heaven on Saturday, October 11, 2014 after a valiant 8 year battle with cancer. She is survived by her daughters Susan Morgan & Beth Lambert and her caring son-in-law Ronnie Lambert. She was Grammy to her 4 grandchildren, Joanna Ochs (John), Hank Lambert (Megan), Kade Norris, & Cody Morgan. She doted on her 4 great grandchildren, Aiden Bell, Kadelyn and Kaden Norris, and Ronni Lambert. She is survived by her devoted sister Betty Valentine (Buster) and many special nieces and nephews (she was KayKe to nieces Marcy Fletcher (Tom) and Kim Wade.) She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, and her husband Frank Sheppard.

Jo Ann was a loving, humble, and unselfish lady who exemplified “it is better to give than to receive.”

Jo Ann was employed by the Dixie County Board of Public Instruction for 30 years. She was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church in Cross City. A celebration memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 23 at 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Cross City; visitation will be held from 2-3 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dixie Education Foundation, PO Box 2655, Cross City, FL 32628, Haven Hospice 311 NE 9th St. Chiefland, FL, 32626, or Grace Ministries, PO Box 164, Bell, FL 32619.
