John Sudbury, known to many as Eddie, was born in El Paso, Texas to Carolyn Griffin Parker and Earl Edwin Sudbury on May 1, 1957. He went to high school at Eastside High School in Gainesville, FL and graduated in 1975. He began working in carpentry building and installing cabinets after high school. He went on to attend many technical schools and worked as a Field Service Technician and a Product Support Specialist for large scale commercial copy machines. He worked for several companies over an approximately forty-year career. He enjoyed fishing and watching football. He was an avid Florida Gator and Dallas Cowboys fan. When he was not watching football or fishing, he could be found either woodworking in his home shop or tinkering with electronic circuits in a room he designed for that purpose.
Eddie Sudbury is preceded in death by the man he considered his father, James Paul Parker, his mother, Carolyn Griffin Parker, his biological father Earl Edwin Sudbury, his brother Thomas Allen Sudbury, and his father-in-law, who he would come to consider his best friend, Chester Carl Weaver.
Eddie Sudbury is survived by his wife of 42 years, Cheryl Sudbury, mother-in-law, Helen Weaver, his three sons, James Mitchell Sudbury, John Paul Sudbury, and Carl Edward Sudbury, his sister Susan Meadows, his niece Debra Calderon, his nephew Keith Calderon, his half-brother Porter Parker, his daughters-in-law, Deanna Sudbury and Michelle Sudbury, his grandchildren Edward Sudbury, Alyssa Sudbury, and James Sudbury, all of Gainesville, FL. His half-sisters, Jan Turner, Patricia Coleman, Paulette Gomez, and Loretta Poole, his uncle, Tommy Sudbury, and his aunt, Darlene Morrison, all of Texas.
