Johna Mae C. McCormick

Johna Mae C. McCormick, 79, of Summerfield Florida, passed away suddenly Friday February 7, 2014, with loving family at her side.  Johna was born September 13, 1934 in Los Angeles, and worked throughout her life as an Activities Director in a Health Care Facility, and recently took pride in Home Health Care.  Johna loved spending time with her family and friends, caring for her dog, Cuddles (whom she rescued), and Kitty her cat, studying family history, singing and praising God.  She always put others first. 

 

Johna is survived by five sons and one daughter: Don (Kim) Culp, New Albany, OH; Bob (Judy) Culp, Rushsylvania, OH; Joy (Bill) Gates, Marysville, OH; Dave (Joyce) Culp, Orlando, FL; Bill (Lorrie) Culp, in the Middle East; Scott (Michele) Culp, Apopka, FL.  Also surviving are two sisters and one brother: Lillian Hunsicker, Washington State; Rachael Hyde, Arkansas; and Vern Hyde, Florida.  Grandchildren: Michelle (Jeff) Fannin, Ostrander, OH; Jaime McKirahan, Concord, NC; Staci McKirahan, Bellefontaine, OH; Alex (Kristy) McKirahan, Bellefontaine, OH; Charity (Jeff) Welch, Forsythe, GA; Christa (Ryan) Knight, Rushsylvania, OH; Robert Culp II, Hilliard, OH; Michael (Amy) Culp, Circleville, OH; Tabetha (Cody) Garner, Circleville, OH; Bill Culp Jr., Circleville, OH; Rachael and Lauren Culp, Apopka, FL; and many Great-grandchildren.  Johna was preceded in death by her husband Frank McCormick, a sister Nadine and her Mother and Father.  

 

A private celebration of her life will be held in The Villages at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 11, 2014.  Johna will be missed.

    Johna was always happy, and a tireless worker. I was her mechanic for the Cadillac, and enjoyed having her in the store to listen to her stories. We will miss her.
