June W. Calohan Singley was born on January 29, 1925 in Blountstown, Florida and died in Gainesville, Florida on October 11, 2013 at E.T. York Hospice Care Center.
A retired Bay District school psychologist and avid member of the Florida Trail Association, June is now blazing new trails across the heavens. She is survived by her husband of twelve years, J. Edward Singley, and Gainesville family: stepdaughters, Elizabeth Nason, Ann Singley, Margaret Singley Moylan, Patricia Singley Lipsig, their families, and granddaughter Shannon Singley. She is also survived by son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Claire Calohan; daughter-in-law, Melissa Calohan; grandchildren Allyson Connor, Matthew Calohan, Jodi Rock and Sara Calohan; great grandchildren, Lily Calohan and Braeden Connor; nephews, Peter, John, and Andrew Holdnak, Wright Walden, and their families. June’s blended family had fourteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Emmet and Lina Walden; brother, Pete Walden; sister, Millie Holdnak; and sons, Daniel and Greg Calohan.
There will be a service celebrating her life on Sunday, October 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1521 NW 34th Street in Gainesville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the E.T. York Hospice Care Center or Westminster Presbyterian Church.
