Kenneth LeRoy Hebson

Ken Hebson, 85, of Gainesville, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, November 27, 2015 at Haven Hospice.

Ken was born on December 18, 1929 to Esther and Francis Hebson in Evanston, Illinois. He graduated from Evanston Township High School in 1948 and from DePauw University in 1953. Following his graduation he entered the USMC as a lieutenant and was honorably discharged in 1955. Upon his discharge he and his wife Alice settled in Northbrook, IL, where they resided for 34 years. Ken was employed at the First National Bank of Chicago in the Trust Department. He retired from the bank in 1989 as a VP in Private Trust. After his retirement Ken and Alice moved to Gainesville, where he became active in the senior Gator golf group, the Emmaus Community and Kairos, a prison ministry.

Ken is survived by his wife of 62 years, Alice Hebson. Their children Sandra Hernbroth (Ron) of Pleasanton, Ca, Tom Hebson (Denise) of Austin, Texas and Donna Hebson of Seattle, WA, as well as 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons. Services for Ken will be held on Thursday, Dec 3rd at 2pm, at the First United Methodist Church of Gainesville, 419 NE First Street, Gainesville, FL 32601.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Haven Hospice and the First United Methodist Church of Gainesville.
