Marge, as she was known to friends, passed in her sleep in the early morning hours of August 29, 2019.
We remember her big smile when she was happy. How she loved listening to jazz and her collection of both 78s and 33s of Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong and others and her enduring love of any songs by Frank Sinatra. She also said reading books, magazines, and newspapers was her “hobby” and when she retired, she would get to read as much as she wanted but didn’t have the time she needed while she was working.
She enjoyed spending time with family with her parents, Annie & Paul Whelan, after meals at their dinner table or in summer on their front porch and it left a hole in her heart when they passed. She loved to share memories of her siblings: Jack, Bob, Frank, Ann and Tom Whelan who called her “Emmy” and “Dutch”. And her Farmer cousins: Glen, Evelyn, Ed & Leila. She enjoyed visits with her beloved sister-in-law Marjorie and her nephews Mike, Paul & Charlie and her nieces Fran & Maggie.
In later life her favorite visits were with her granddaughters, Leah & Sarah and her great grandchildren Sawyer, Grady & Callie who knew as G-gma (gee-gee-ma).
Marge was cremated and her ashes will be spread at Forest Meadows Memorial Park- Central
