Margaret Kathleen Monahan Trainer

Margaret “Momma T” Trainer of Gainesville, FL passed away at her home on Wednesday, July 18, 2012. She was 69.

Mrs. Trainer was born July 20, 1942 in Providence, Rhode Island. She was retired from the North Florida Evaluation Treatment Center and was a long-time member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church where she was active as a volunteer. People were drawn to Momma T’s love of life, capacity for fun, and engaging sense of humor. She loved nature, animals, movies, and traveling, especially going to Disney World.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, in 2010. Survivors include a son, Anthony “Tiger” Trainer (Amanda) of Melbourne, FL; daughter, Lisa Trainer (Cindi Fleetwood) of Gainesville; brothers, George Monahan and David Monahan both from Providence, RI; grandchildren, Deidre Trainer, Alyssa Trainer and Ariana Trainer, and lifelong friend, Carolyn Del Padre.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 23, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 500 NE 16th Avenue, with Father Roland Julien officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Meadows Central Mausoleum, 4100 NW 39th Avenue. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 22, 2012, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 5:30pm at Forest Meadows Funeral Home, 725 NW 23rd Avenue. In lieu of flowers, send plants or seeds for a memorial garden.

    Our prayers are with the family, Margie was the most wonderful person we have ever known and this family will miss her very much. She will always be in our hearts and never will be forgotten for all the years we spent as friends. She is home now with God and will always watch over her family and friends forever.
