Marion Eugene White

Marion Eugene White, 90 of Gainesville passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 7th, 2014.  He was born October 9, 1923 in Columbus, Indiana to Irvin and Ida White. 

Mr. White retired from his H & R Block office in Live Oak after 45 years of service.  Prior to his career with H&R Block, he was a machinist at the University of Florida, Maddox Foundry in Archer and Dean Hill Pump Company in Indianapolis, IN.  He attended Live Oak Church of the Nazarene.

He was preceded in death by his wives Ruby Evelyn Asbury of 45 years  and Audrey Shaw Cooper of 6 years; son, Robert E. White; daughter, Marcelle White Fulmer; grandson, Allan Wade Dorsett II.

He is survived by son, Michael D. White; daughters, Andrea Gantt, Treneda White, Patricia Tavolar, Karen Vinson, and Ladonna Fortin; along with 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Mr. White’s Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, April 11 at Forest Meadows “Chapel in the  Meadows”,  4100 NW 39th Ave, Gainesville.  Visitation will be at Forest Meadows Funeral Home, 725 NW 23rd Ave from 5-7 PM Thursday, April 10.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Blvd, Gainesville, FL 32606.
