Martha Ann Simpson

Martha Ann Simpson went to be with the Lord on April 10, 2017 in Lakeland, Florida, after a brave battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born in Kansas City, MO on August 6, 1941 to Dr. Earl C. and Dorothy Macey.  She was raised in Marshall, MO and graduated from the University of Missouri with a BS in Education in 1963. She was a member of Alpha Delta PI. She met her husband, Kenneth W. Simpson at college and they were married for 53 years.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church and resided in Gainesville, FL for over 30 years.

Martha’s greatest passion in life was her family. She also loved gardening, geneology, music, singing, dancing and The Florida Gators.  She extended great kindness and love to everyone she met and you never left her house hungry or without one of her wonderful hugs.

Martha is survived by her husband Kenneth W. Simpson, three daughters, Christy (George) Herringshaw of Lakeland, Debbie (Matt) Ryan of Gainesville, Lisa (Jason) Birket of Lakeland; six grandchildren, Justin (Nica) Fahrenholtz of Duluth, GA Stephanie Fahrenholtz (Nick) of Lakeland, Zachary & Maddie Ryan of Gain4sville; Macey and Logan Birket of Lakeland; and three great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Christopher Macey of Bloomfield, CT.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at Forest Meadows Cemetery Mausoleum, 4100 NW 39th Avenue, Gainesville, FL.

Viewing will be held at 10:00am and the funeral will be held at 11:00am there will be a celebration of life gathering after the funeral at the location to be announced.
