Mary Alice Haufler

Mary Alice Haufler was born June 2nd 1947 in TyTy Georgia. She fell in love with Roy
Haufler, moved to Gainesville Florida and they were married August 8th, 1965. They
lived in the home they build together until Roy's untimely death June 1st, 1998.
Mary passed away peacefully, with her daughter and granddaughter by her side, on
April 28th, 2023, after a short but intense fight against Cancer. Mary never met a
stranger and was loved by all who knew her. She enjoyed spending time with her
friends and family and was a known artist and Gardner. Mary was a beloved wife,
mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She worked at the Haufler Jiffy store at
the corner of I-75 and 39th Ave for many years. Following the death of her husband she
moved to the town of Suwannee, Florida where she made many friends and was
involved in the community.

Mary left behind her daughter Karen, son in law Rennie, granddaughter Elaina and
great grandchildren Adriano and Auriana Thomas. As well as, her brother Charles,
sister Anna and many nieces and nephews, family and friends.  She was preceded on
death by her brother Clifford, sisters Jane and Christine, as well as her mother and
father, Nettie and Penny Gibbs.

A graveside service will be held Friday May 5th at 2:30pm at Forrest Meadows funeral
home on 39th Avenue. A Celebration of life will be held the following Saturday May 13,
5pm, at Salt Creek restaurant in Suwannee, Florida. In leu of flowers please consider
donation to St. Jude Hospital which Mary regularly donated to.
