Mary “Doris” Adams, mother, fisherwoman, and collector of children in need, has gone and left us all behind. Mom passed away at her home Friday, August 17, 2012 surrounded by family.

She is survived by: three daughters, Debbie Woolford-Miller (Loren), Sue Bell (Danny Fletcher), and Glenda Martin-Moore (Gary); three sons: Ron Adams (Joyce), Randy Adams (Debbie), and Ron Ray (Becky); niece Salena Daniel and nephew Shawn Daniel; brother-in-law Ray Daniel. She is also survived by ten grandchildren: Holly, Kandace, Lauren, Kendall, Kimberly, Kasey, Dakota, McKenzie, Trevor, and Tyler and ten great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her husband Otis, two sisters, Jayne Williams and Mae Daniel, brother Ed O’neal and two grandsons, Shane Martin and Donald Martin.

Doris was born in Baker County, FL and grew up in Lake City and Starke.
She moved to Gainesville in 1951 with her husband Iottis Adams Jr.. She worked at McCollum drugs for several years before moving to K-Mart and worked there before retiring in 2001 after 25 years as a cashier. She loved these jobs because of the people she got to meet. Mom is going to be missed.

There will be a visitation with the family on Monday, August 20,2012, at Forest Meadows Funeral Home, 725 NW 23rd Avenue, Gainesville from 6 to 8 PM. There are no services planned. The family asks, in lieu of flowers, donations could be made to Haven Hospice in Mom‘s memory.
