Gordon Wayne Jones, 88 yrs old, of Melrose, passed away on
February 24th in his home in Melrose.
Visitation will be held at Forest Meadows Funeral Home on March 1, 2023 at at 6PM.
Funeral service will be held at Melrose Cemetery on March 2nd at
10AM with Pastor Aaron Morgan of Orange heights Baptist Church
officiating. Burial will follow at Melrose Cemetery, 821 State Rd 21, Melrose, FL 32666. Forest Meadows
Funeral Home are handling the funeral arrangements.
Gordon Wayne Jones was born in Tichnor, Arkansas to Robert
and Beatrice on November 26, 1934. He received his education in
Little Rock, Arkansas. He went on to receive his certification as an
Instrument Technician from the Jacksonville Plumbers and
Pipefitters Training School. He worked as a pipe fitter for Local 234
out of Jacksonville. He enjoyed reading, caring for his animals,
traveling and spending time with friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Jones, mother Beatrice
McDonald Jones, Wife, Carolyn Danford Strickland Jones,and brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his sons, Jimmy Strickland and wife Nancy, Brett
Strickland and wife Brandy, son Gordon Jones Jr. and wife Teresa. He is
also survived by his many grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as
nieces and nephews.
