Nancy Jo Grantham, 73, of Gainesville, passed away September 17, 2012 at North Florida Regional Medical Center. She was born in St. Augustine to Cranston and Lessie Hankins and moved to Gainesville 38 years ago. Nancy was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church of Cross City.

She was preceded in death by her husband George W. Grantham, twin sister Betty Hankins, brother Thomas Hankins, and grandson Rick Wills. She is survived by daughters Teresa Averitt of Gainesville, Glenda Douglas of Interlachen, Nancy Secrist of Gainesville, sons Paul Smiley and Brian Smiley of Georgia, and Scott Grantham of Interalchen, brother Parnell Hankins, sisters Christine Biggs, Miriam Alls all of Georgia and Jean Fisher of Jacksonville, grandchildren Marcy, Paula, Thomas, Starla, Leah, Kaley, Shawn, Keith, Gabriel, Lucas, and Scott, many step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Highland Missionary Baptist Church, 2620 NE 15th St., Gainesville, FL with Pastor Richard Hartmann Officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-7 PM at Forest Meadows Funeral Home, 725 NW 23rd Ave., Gainesville, Fl.
